Your candidate number is used for your exams and assessed coursework. Using candidate numbers ensures that your exam scripts and coursework are marked anonymously.

Your candidate number changes every academic year. For the 2020-21 academic year, your candidate number will begin with the letter AB followed by 5 numbers (e.g. AB12345).

You can find your candidate number on Student Records from early October, in the section called My Personal Details. It will also appear on your personalised exam timetable (also available on Student Records).

Important to know:

  • If you don’t have a candidate number shortly before the exam period, please get in touch.
  • For security and accuracy reasons, candidate numbers cannot be provided over the phone. As such, if the number is not appearing on your record, then it can only be provided to you via email.
