To better support you and get you the documents you need as quickly as possible, we are always developing ways for you to download or access and share documents showing the details of your course at a time that suits you.

Here is a run-down of what is instantly available to you:

Take a look at the details of how you can access it, what to use it for and any exceptions.

Confirmation of Study Letter

How can I get it?
You can access this letter and download it instantly at any time from your student record while you are studying. This proves you are student enrolled at King’s. Find out more in our article I need to prove I am a student.

What’s it for?
This letter range can be used for a range of purposes when you need to prove you’re studying. The most common uses are – Council Tax exemption, for a landlord or housing agency, opening a bank account.

Any exceptions?
We advise against using this for any visa purposes. If you are looking for any documentation to support a visa application, please search our articles for support for your query, or log a case with us for more guidance.

Record of Agreed Results

How can I get it?
You can access this letter and download it instantly from your Gradintel account. This shows your module results if you are an undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate taught (PGT) student. Find out more in our article I need to prove my module results so far.

What’s it for?
This letter proves is for your ratified (official) results for each of the modules you’ve completed on your course so far. This is most commonly used for applications for further study, for study abroad, or job applications.

Any exceptions?
This letter will only show results for completed modules and those ratified. It won’t show any provisional results. It’s great for showing results as you go along through your course, but it doesn’t show your final degree award. So once you’ve graduated your transcript or your HEAR are better documents to use.

The ROAR unfortunately won’t be available to you if you’re not eligible for a HEAR, since these documents are both available on Gradintel. Only those who started from 2012/13 onwards are eligible.

Important to know: The ROAR is not available for postgraduate research (PGR) students, because these courses have no modular results.

Final Transcript

How can I get it?

Your transcript is available to access online in electronic format for free, and ready once all your marks are ratified. It's now available on Gradintel alongside your HEAR, and you can access it in the same way. Find out more in our article Accessing my Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) on Gradintel.

What's it for?

This document is a breakdown of your module marks is best used when you have completed and been awarded. You can share your transcript with anyone from the Gradintel website in a secure way - employers, educational institutions for further study, agencies, organisations that verify qualifications.

Any exceptions?

This document is only possible for undergraduates (UG) postgraduate taught (PGT) students; it's not available for research students where there is no modular structure to the programme.

For more detail about your transcript, see I need a transcript.

Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)

How can I get it?
If you are an undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate taught (PGT) student, you can access this document any time from your Gradintel account. As a King’s student you already have an account, you just need to activate it when accessing it for the first time. Find out more in our article Accessing my Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) on Gradintel.

What’s it for?
This document has a detailed breakdown of information about your course, showing your module results, degree award, and description of your course. This means it’s a great document which will serve you well into the future when you need to prove your degree for job applications or for further study.

Find out more about your HEAR in What is the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)?

Any exceptions?
Your HEAR should serve you well in most situations where you need to prove your degree. This document should be accepted everywhere, and is an official document issued by King’s.

You can use it digitally, through the ‘Share’ function on the Gradintel website, or you can print it out as a hard copy. The only limitation is that it is not designed to be downloaded by you. Due to the way the document is coded, it can appear invalid when used in this way, so we advise against this.

Important to know: Unfortunately the HEAR is not available for postgraduate research (PGR) students. If you’re a PGR student and you have completed and been awarded, you can request an Award letter from Student Services.

Higher Education Degree Datacheck (HEDD)

How can I get it?
This is an online database verification system for students studying at universities in the UK, is an alternative to a document, and can be accessed by registering with the website. Find out more in our article How can an employer or other agency verify a degree from King’s?

What’s it for?
This is for use by third parties – employers, agencies, or other higher education institutions to verify your information and check that you have indeed studied at King’s. Sometimes organisations will ask for documents from you or from us directly to verify information you have supplied them with. Once you have graduated, we will direct any third party queries directly to HEDD.

Any exceptions?
This service can technically be used while you are current student, but it will not show any unratified awards, and so may not have the details an employer or an educational institution is looking for. If you are still studying, we recommend using your Confirmation of Study letter and Record of Agreed Results to show the details of your course.

HEDD also not designed for you to check your own record or information. This service is best used by third parties for King’s alumni.
