Microaggressions
Microaggressions are subtle everyday actions and comments that may seem harmless (and are frequently accidental) but are typically borne out of implicit biases and stereotypes and affect those from marginalised/historically excluded groups in quite a significant way. It’s therefore important that everyone takes the time to educate themselves on microaggressions and how they can be prevented. Eliminating microaggressions is important in ensuring that our Faculty is a welcoming place for everyone.
The Micropedia is a great place to start getting yourself familiar with what microaggresions are and the impact they may have.
You can read more about how King’s supports diverse and specific needs in the Dignity & Inclusion section on SSO.
