Occupational Health
Occupational Health is a supportive service where you will be assessed by an Occupational Health Practitioner (OHP) when required, to support your health needs. For undergraduate students, we work with the Guys and St Thomas Hospital (GSTT) provider, and for postgraduate students, our partnership is with King’s College Hospital. More information is available in our article What is Occupational Health (OH)?.
If you are studying on a professionally regulated programme (PSRB) you may be required to complete pre-commencement health questionnaires and work with Occupational Health throughout your programme. Please see your Programme Handbook for further information.
DBS
Some programmes require that you have clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). If you are required to obtain a DBS check for any part of your programme, King's Admissions will notify you by email. More information on DBS is available in this Student Services Online in our article I need a DBS check.
Alternatively you can contact your Programme, Placement & Assessment (PPA) Team via the Faculty Education Services Student Hub.
Professionalism
If you are studying on a professionally regulated programme, you are required to behave in accordance with certain standards of professional behaviour. You should familiarise yourself with these standards, and the corresponding information confirming how the Faculty processes for investigation and subsequent potential sanctions should there be concerns. The guidance is available in your programme handbook on KEATS and should be read in conjunction with the relevant Fitness to Practise guidance referred to below.
Fitness to Practise
If at any point during your studies on a professionally regulated programme there is a concern regarding your fitness to practise in the relevant profession, the Faculty and potentially the University will investigate this and make a decision regarding your fitness to practise. The Faculty Fitness to Practise guidance for your programme can be found in your programme handbook on KEATS, and the University Fitness to Practise policy can be accessed on the King’s Policy HUB.
