King’s has sourced a select number of preferred conference venues to provide additional quality teaching space.
Important to know: These venues will only be in use by King's until Friday 28 March 2025.
All of our additional venues:
- Provide, as a minimum, the same levels of cleaning as the University.
- Are in close proximity to King's campuses.
- Offer well-ventilated classrooms.
- Will have cloud-based free Wi-Fi (log in will vary by venue).
- Do not have lecture capture capabilities i.e. lectures held at these venues won't be recorded.
- The only exceptions are the Kelvin and Turing Lecture Theatres at the IET.

IET London: Savoy Place
The IET London: Savoy Place is the London conference and events venue for the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Located down by the river and adjacent to the South entrance of the Savoy hotel the venue is a 5-minute walk from our Strand Campus.
How can I get to the venue?
The address for this venue is 2 Savoy Place, London, WC2R 0BL
Nearest tube station: Temple (Circle and District Lines)
Walking directions from tubes:
Temple | Circle and District Lines
- Leave Temple underground station, turning right and right again onto Victoria Embankment.
- Head westwards, passing underneath Waterloo Bridge and cross the road.
- Here you will find IET London: Savoy Place immediately on your right, as the first building in Savoy Place.
Covent Garden | Piccadilly Line
- Leave Covent Garden underground station and head south towards Covent Garden Piazza.
- Go through the Piazza and head down to The Strand via Southampton Street.
- On reaching The Strand turn left and head eastwards, turning right into Savoy Street.
- Head down to the bottom of Savoy Street and turn right at the bottom, directly into Savoy Place.
- We are the first venue on your right on the corner of the street.
Embankment | Northern, Bakerloo, Circle and District Lines
- Leave Embankment underground station via Embankment exit to the right.
- Turn immediately left onto Victoria Embankment and follow the road along to the first left turn, before Waterloo Bridge.
- Here you will find IET London: Savoy Place on the corner.
London Charing Cross | Northern and Bakerloo Lines
- Leave Charing Cross station via the main exit into The Strand, turning right outside the station and heading in an easterly direction.
- You will reach Savoy Street on the right (if you reach Somerset House, you have gone too far!)
- Head down to the bottom of Savoy Street and turn right at the bottom, directly into Savoy Place.
- We are the first venue on your right, on the corner of the street.
Waterloo Station | Jubilee and Northern Lines
- Walk across Waterloo Bridge and go down the left-hand side steps down to street level.
- Cross the street and then follow the directions above from Temple Station.

Ortus Conference Centre
The Ortus Conference centre is a subsidiary of the Maudsley Charity, the Ortus Conference centre is located on the Denmark Hill Campus behind the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN).
King’s is using 1 teaching room at this venue.
You can see the Ortus Conference Centre on the internal map of the Denmark Hill campus – zoom in until you see building number 5.
How can I get to the venue?

Walking directions from Denmark Hill Station:
- Continue along Windsor Walk.
- Turn Left onto Grove Lane.
- Turn Left onto De Crespigny Park.

Nearest tube stations: Oval (Northern Line) and Elephant and Castle (Northern and Bakerloo Lines)

- To get to Denmark Hill station, you will need to get the 185 bus.
Directions from Elephant and Castle:
- To get to Denmark Hill station, you can either get the 40 bus or 176 bus to Denmark Hill Station.

ETC Venues: Chancery Lane
ETC Venues Chancery Lane is a dedicated meeting venue located two minutes' walk from the Maughan Library. King's has taken two dedicated meeting rooms on the first floor of the venue to support with the teaching.
How can I get to the venue?
The address for this venue is 50-52 Chancery Ln, London WC2A 1HL
Nearest Train station: Chancery Lane, Holborn (Central line) and Covent Garden (Piccadilly) are the nearest stations
Option 1 - Chancery Lane
- Leave the station via the High Holborn exit and turn right on to High Holborn.
- Keep walking up High Holborn (keeping the road on your right) for about 3 minutes.
- Turn Left onto Chancery Lane and walk a further 3 minutes. Park.
- The venue is on the left just over a road called Southampton Buildings
- Leave the station via the High Holborn exit and turn right on to High Holborn.
- Walk down (keeping the road on your left) past the University of the Arts for 5 minutes.
- Turn Left onto Chancery Lane and walk a further 3 minutes.
- The venue is on the left just over a road called Southampton Buildings
Option 3 – Covent Garden
- Leave the station and turn left on to Long Acre street, then turn right and follow Long Acre, until you reach Drury Lane. Cross over Drury Lane on to Great Queen Street, and keep walking past The Freemasons Hall.
- Cross over Drury Lane on to Great Queen Street, and keep walking past The Freemasons Hall.
- Kingsway will be ahead of you, cross over, turn left and walk towards High Holborn - you will see Holborn Station on the corner. Turn right at the station and follow as option 2
By Thameslink train via Farringdon station
- Exit Farringdon station via the Farringdon Road/Cowcross Street exit and turn left
- Walk down the small street to Farringdon Road, cross over and walk up Greville Street.
- Turn left on to Hatton Garden and cross over the zebra crossing, keep walking until you see a statue of Albert Prince Consort.
- Here cross over the road and walk up High Holborn for about 8 minutes, Chancery Lane will be on your left just after the underground exit.
- The venue is on the left just over a road called Southampton Buildings.
By Bus
Chancery Lane is served by a number of bus routes including, 4, 11, 15, 26, 76, 172, 341.
