King’s has sourced a select number of preferred conference venues to provide additional quality teaching space.
Important to know: These venues will only be in use by King's until Friday 31 March 2023.
All of our external venues:
- Provide as a minimum, the same levels of cleaning as the university.
- Are in close proximity to university campuses.
- Offer well ventilated classrooms.
- Will have cloud-based free wi-fi (log in will vary by venue).
- Do not have lecture capture capabilities i.e. lectures held at these venues won't be recorded.
- The only exception is the Kelvin Lecture Theatre at the IET.

IET London: Savoy Place
The IET London: Savoy Place is the London conference and events venue for the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Located down by the river and adjacent to the South entrance of the Savoy hotel the venue is a 5-minute walk from our Strand Campus.
King’s has organised up to 4 classrooms at this venue, and they are described IET1, IET2 and so on.
How can I get to the venue?
The address for this venue is 2 Savoy Place, London, WC2R 0BL
Nearest tube station: Temple (Circle and District Lines)
Walking directions from tubes:
Temple | Circle and District Lines
- Leave Temple underground station, turning right and right again onto Victoria Embankment.
- Head westwards, passing underneath Waterloo Bridge and cross the road.
- Here you will find IET London: Savoy Place immediately on your right, as the first building in Savoy Place.
Covent Garden | Piccadilly Line
- Leave Covent Garden underground station and head south towards Covent Garden Piazza.
- Go through the Piazza and head down to The Strand via Southampton Street.
- On reaching The Strand turn left and head eastwards, turning right into Savoy Street.
- Head down to the bottom of Savoy Street and turn right at the bottom, directly into Savoy Place.
- We are the first venue on your right on the corner of the street.
Embankment | Northern, Bakerloo, Circle and District Lines
- Leave Embankment underground station via Embankment exit to the right.
- Turn immediately left onto Victoria Embankment and follow the road along to the first left turn, before Waterloo Bridge.
- Here you will find IET London: Savoy Place on the corner.
London Charing Cross | Northern and Bakerloo Lines
- Leave Charing Cross station via the main exit into The Strand, turning right outside the station and heading in an easterly direction.
- You will reach Savoy Street on the right (if you reach Somerset House, you have gone too far!)
- Head down to the bottom of Savoy Street and turn right at the bottom, directly into Savoy Place.
- We are the first venue on your right, on the corner of the street.
Waterloo Station | Jubilee and Northern Lines
- Walk across Waterloo Bridge and go down the left-hand side steps down to street level.
- Cross the street and then follow the directions above from Temple Station.

Coin Street Conference Centre
The Coin Street Conference Centre is a charitable enterprise and part of Coin Street Community Builders, a housing co-operative working in the local community.
Ideally placed for our Waterloo campus, this venue can be found on Stamford Street adjacent to our Franklin Wilkins building.
King’s has organised 1 teaching room at this venue.
How can I get to the venue?
The address for this venue is 108 Stamford Street, London, SE1 9NH
Nearest train/tube station: Waterloo
- From Waterloo Station cross Waterloo Bridge heading West.
- Walk down Stamford Street.
The venue is just after our own Franklin Wilkins building on the North side of the road.

The Ortus Conference centre is a subsidiary of the Maudsley Charity, the Ortus Conference centre is located on the Denmark Hill Campus behind the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN).

- To get to Denmark Hill station, you will need to get the 185 bus.

- To get to Denmark Hill station, you can either get the 40 bus or 176 bus to Denmark Hill Station.

Standing on Great Queen Street, The Grand Connaught rooms offer a dedicated conference centre just off the Kingsway and only five minutes walk from the Bush House complex.
