If your address or personal email address changes while you're at King's, then you need to update it on your student record as soon as possible.
Your address will appear on documents produced for you, so it's important to make sure the details are correct and complete. Banks, for example, will not accept documentation that has an incomplete address.
If you're eligible to graduate, important information about Graduation will be sent to your personal email address, so keeping it up to date is essential to ensure you don't miss any important information or any deadlines related to your ceremony.
Important to know: after your student IT account is closed, it’s difficult to update your details and you may miss out on important communications regarding Graduation, as well as other university news. For more information about the closure of your student IT account, please see our article How long after I graduate will my student IT account be closed?

Adding a trusted contact
At King’s, a ‘trusted contact’ is someone who our staff can speak to regarding your personal matters or act on your behalf if needed. Therefore, you should think carefully about who you’d like to add as your trusted contact. The person you choose should be someone you consider to be reliable and trustworthy.
Staff would only use these details when there are serious concerns for your wellbeing. However, it can also be helpful in situations where you need someone to contact King’s on your behalf. As a named trusted contact, staff will be able to confirm who they are and their relationship to you.
Family members are often the first choice to be a trusted contact. But, if there’s a large difference between the UK’s time zone and their time zone, or if they find it more difficult to communicate in English, it’d be worth considering if there’s anyone else who could be a trusted contact.
If you’re experiencing estrangement or you’re finding it difficult to think of a trusted contact, you can speak to the Faculty Wellbeing Advice team for support.
Important to know: You must make sure that the email address and phone number listed for your trusted contact are always up to date.
