How do I access my King's email account for the first time?
Your username for your King's email account is your email@example.com e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit the Access your email webpage to open the Microsoft Outlook Web App.
Important to know:
Your King's email address will be used by staff and services across the university to communicate important information to you. As such, remember to check your account regularly.
To help you keep up-to-date with your King's email account, you may find it helpful to add the account to your smartphone so important emails can reach you quickly.
Connecting to the Wi-Fi network at King's
At King’s, you’ll be able to access Wi-Fi on our Eduroam network, which is our official network provider for the wider King’s community and is also used extensively by many UK and overseas universities too.
How can I connect to Eduroam?
Visit our Eduroam webpages for further guidance on connecting to Eduroam for the first time.
Important to know: For guidance on locating an Eduroam hotspot when you're not on campus, visit the Eduroam webpages.
Connecting a new personal device to the King's network
How do I connect a new device to the King’s network? (before Friday 11 February)
To connect a personal device to the King’s network (such as a laptop, PC, printer, or another device e.g. console) register it as one of your 3 personal devices through the My Devices Portal. If you have any issues opening the portal you might need to clean your cache, web browser, or web history first. Take a look at the guidance on the Digital Skills Hub for further guidance. If further issues persist, follow the guidance on contacting IT below.
If you are connecting your personal device after the deadline (11 February)
If you struggle to connect automatically, open a browser and try to connect to the webpage http://webauth.kcl.ac.uk (please be advised that this may take a while to load!)
I have previously connected my personal device
If you have connected your personal device to the King’s network recently before Friday 11 February, you should be able to log in as usual.
If you experience any difficulties when registering your device, contact the IT Service Desk on 0207 848 8888 or email email@example.com for support.
I'm unable to log in to my IT account using my username and password
I forgot my password to access my IT account, what should I do?
If you have set up Microsoft Self-Service Password reset, then you can visit the Microsoft Online Password Reset webpage to request a password change.
To request a password change:
Enter your username in the format of firstname.lastname@example.org.
You will then receive a verification code to an external (i.e. non-King's) email address that you confirmed when setting up self-service.
If you have any issues with resetting your password, please attach proof of photo ID to an email and send it to email@example.com from a personal email address. The IT Service desk will then be able to reset your password for you.
