I'm unable to log in to my IT account using my username and password

I forgot my password to access my IT account, what should I do?
Your username for your King's email account is your knumber@kcl.ac.uk e.g. k1234567@kcl.ac.uk. Visit the Access your email webpage to open the Microsoft Outlook Web App.
Important to know:
-
Your King's email address will be used by staff and services across the university to communicate important information to you. As such, remember to check your account regularly.
-
To help you keep up-to-date with your King's email account, you may find it helpful to add the account to your smartphone so important emails can reach you quickly.
If you have set up Microsoft Self-Service Password reset, then you can visit the Microsoft Online Password Reset webpage to request a password change.
To request a password change:
-
Enter your username in the format of knumber@kcl.ac.uk.
-
You will then receive a verification code to an external (i.e. non-King's) email address that you confirmed when setting up self-service.
If you have any issues with resetting your password, please attach proof of photo ID to an email and send it to 8888@kcl.ac.uk from a personal email address. The IT Service desk will then be able to reset your password for you.
What software do I need?
When you’re getting your King’s IT account set up, check out our IT Essentials Checklist, which includes information on accessing all the software you need such as Microsoft Office 365 and how to get connected to our eduroam Wifi when on campus.
