I need help accessing my student record

If you’re fully enrolled you should be able to access Student Records, where you can view and update information related to you and your course, and do important tasks such as module selection and during the online enrolment task.

If you are a graduate whose ceremony was postponed from 2020 or 2021, access to your account can be restored. Please follow the steps in this article.

How do I access student records?

Your login ID is your K-number followed by '@kcl.ac.uk'.
Your password is your KCL password (same as for your email).

My login isn’t working; what can I do?

If you’re struggling to log in, consider trying any of these to help fix the issue:

Double-check you’re typing the right password.
If you are sure the password is correct, then check if it contains any of the following characters:
- Spaces, | (vertical bar), : (colon)
  - These are not recognised and you will need to change your KCL password.
Check if your KCL password expired? If you cannot login to your email or other IT services as well as student records, then your password may have expired.
- Reset it by going to Password Reset.
Have you withdrawn from or completed your course? Student Records access is for currently studying students. Access is usually removed once you have completed your studies.

I’m getting an error message; what can I do?

If you’re seeing an error message when you try to log in, it will mean different things depending on what it says:

“Invalid username” or “Invalid password” = check you have entered these correctly, then follow the advice above on logging in.
“No active containers” = this means there is an issue with your student record. Please use Student Services Online to log a request to have this checked.
“Check you have been authorised to access student records” = this usually means your student status does not allow access; you may still be an applicant, have withdrawn from your course, or have another data issue. Please use Student Services Online to log a request to have your data checked if you are still studying at King’s.

I am being asked for authentication; what does this mean?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be granted via the Authenticator app on your phone, in the same way that it is used for other Kings systems (such as Outlook).

The following steps will explain how to login to Student Records with MFA.

Select the Student Records link.
Now, enter your Kings ID followed by @kcl.ac.uk (for instance k1234567@kcl.ac.uk) and click on ‘Next’ Button.
Enter your Kings password which is used to login to your Kings Outlook or Kings Laptop and click on ‘Sign in’ button.
Authentication can be achieved via the authenticator app on your mobile device. (If the authenticator app is not available, log a remedy ticket with Kings support team get the authenticator app installed in your mobile device).
Click on Yes button

This will automatically login into Student Records.
