You may have heard there has been an increase in cases of measles in London and the UK. The best way to protect yourself and prevent the spread of measles is to have two doses of the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine. Check the NHS website for more information.

Preventing the spread of germs

We all need to play a part in looking after ourselves and being considerate of others, to maintain a healthy campus to work and study.

Like other infectious diseases, you can catch measles through close contact with someone who has the infection. To help prevent the spread of germs, remember to:

  • Follow basic hygiene rules such as frequent hand washing.
  • Keep shared facilities clean.
  • Use tissues when you cough or sneeze and throw used tissues in the bin.
  • Stay at home if you feel unwell and take the appropriate time to rest and recover.
