Collecting your student ID card is the final step to enrolling at King’s. Information on how to collect your student ID card is available below, including how to book a slot and what to bring with you.
There are different requirements for student ID collection depending on your nationality.
What do I need to do before collecting my student ID card?
After completing stage one of enrolment, you will need to complete stage two: essential training.

Designed to equip you with key information, the essential training courses empower you to play an active role in keeping our community safe and foster an environment where everyone feels respected and supported.
Within Student Records, navigate to the 'My Training' tab where you’ll be asked to follow further instructions to complete your Health and Safety induction and your Consent Matters training.
Once you have completed your essential training you should complete stage three: your Right to Study check.
You will only be able to collect your student ID card once your Right to Study check is complete.
Important to know: it can take up to five working days for our Visa Compliance team to confirm your Right to Study check.
You should complete your Right to Study check as soon as you arrive in the UK. You can do this by logging into Student Records with your K number and password and clicking on the ‘Right to Study check’ tab at the top of the screen.
How do I collect my student ID card for the first time?
After your Right to Study check is confirmed, you will receive a Right to Study check confirmation email. It can take up to three working days after submitting your Right to Study check to receive this email.
Important to know: You will not be able to collect your student ID card before receiving the Right to Study check confirmation email. This email will contain a link allowing you to book a slot to collect your student ID card. If your Right to Study check confirmation email did not contain a booking link, please look at the Other Student ID card questions section below.
Student ID card collection will be available at Strand Campus from 9 September – 4 October and all King’s Campuses from 16 – 20 September. We also have a separate ID card collection for any students with additional requirements on Strand Campus.
If you are arriving after 4 October, please check back at this page closer to the time for information on how to collect your student ID card.

Can you post my student ID card to my home address?
We are unable to send your student ID card to your home address in the UK or overseas. You will not need your student ID card until you arrive on campus. Please ensure you follow the guidance detailed above to collect your student ID card once you arrive.
I didn't receive a link to book my student ID card in my Right to Study check confirmation email. What do I do?
If you have received your Right to Study Check confirmation email and it didn’t contain a link to book, you will be able to book your slot online once booking opens in September. Please check back at this page closer to the time for more information.
Important to know: if you have not received your Right to Study check confirmation email you will not be able to collect your student ID card. It can take up to three working days after you have submitted to receive the confirmation email.

I'm studying on a King's Digital programme, do I need to collect an ID card?
King’s Digital students don't need an ID card. If you're in London and you want to get one, you will be able to as long as you've completed your online enrolment and uploaded a photo of yourself. Please follow the process for your nationality above.
I’m studying at a partner institution of King's. How do I collect my student ID card?
If you are a student from the Courtauld Institute taking modules at King’s and hold British or Irish nationality you should complete stages 1 and 2 of enrolment then book your collection slot online following the British and Irish national steps above. If you're an international student and do not hold British or Irish nationality, you should complete stages 1, 2 and 3 of enrolment and wait until you receive your Right to Study check confirmation email. You can then follow the 'I am an international student and I do not hold British or Irish nationality' steps above.
If you are studying an MBBS at the University of Portsmouth, you will receive your student ID cards for both institutions at your induction in Portsmouth.
If you are studying with TEDI, you will be able to access our campus and facilities without formally enrolling.
I need a new lanyard, where can I get one?
You can collect a new lanyard for your student ID card from the Student Services Frontline desk at our Strand, Guy’s and Denmark Hill campuses.
I'm a visiting student on campus for a short period of time. How do I collect my student ID card?
If you need access to our campus and facilities and you hold British or Irish nationality, you should complete stages 1 and 2 of enrolment, then book your ID collection slot online following the British and Irish national steps above.
If you're an international student and you don’t hold British or Irish nationality, you should complete stages 1, 2 and 3 of enrolment and wait until you receive your Right to Study check confirmation email.
